Ameriie Previews Her All-New "Every Time"
April 3, 2012
Spring is officially here and all kinds of things—including romance—are blossoming.
She’s been dropping hints on twitter, and now Ameriie (who followed her intuition to add an extra ‘i’ to her name in 2010) has unveiled a new track that captures wild, rational-thought-out-the-window infatuation.
Pretty piano loops mimic tummy butterflies beneath sweet and sultry vocals on Focus-produced “Every Time,” from Ameriie’s forthcoming mini-LP, The Prelude.

Very groovilicious, ain't it? I was instantly taken by the pretty piano loops and the hint of longing in the vocals. [Edited 4/3/12 18:06pm]

Same here. Amerie seems to always know how to get that GROOVE going... I ain't heard a song of her's yet that sounded stale...

REALLY like it. She's not that great of a singer, but she knows how to show off her voice. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I really like the song. Amerie is really underrated. She should be playing on the radio. She has alot of nice pop like songs...

Ameriie has that knack and people slight her on production, every conversation involves Rich Harrison, and yet he was not that involved second album at all, 1thing and on was her and her ideas primarily. She always has had that knack and ability to seperate herself from the RB world, by that i mean the POP RB world, she is more funky, live, driven than really any RB female. She needs to perform gigs at high-profile venues, get on TV and release a full album this year. She's unrecognizable in the above pic, but I kinda like the new look.

Yes. I love the song because it reminds me of the nice vibe she had on her first album, which I love. She seems to always know how to make those songs that make a girl want to throw on her skinny jeans, some sandals, the shades, grab the purse and be off to some exciting function while it's sunny and warm outside. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

She is going to release an EP prior to a new album, most likely in a few weeks to early summer, not sure if she is funding it on her label, or Def Jam is doing it, but i think its just her again. I like her, but there's something about her vocal style that makes me inevitably associate her with the music made a decade ago. Nothing on this track sounds contemporary and it doesn't really qualify as retro either.

Not diggin' the nose job, though.

Her fans love her. I'm not a fan 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

That's why I like it, it blurs contemporary/retro "R&B/hip-hop" lol most of her music is like that actually. Maybe that's why I like it so much.

She was beautiful the way she was-not digging the new look and the song is okay

this easily could have come off of the "because i love it" record which to me is possibly one of the best RB albums of the 00's decade, too bad america never got its release, just as an import. But to me that was a blessing that the record wasnt released here by SONY, because he gave her the push to leave and the further push to do production and stuff by herself. AMERIE is viewed as being difficult, in label terms that means "shes a thinker". I kinda like the song. Best i've heard since 1 thing although the song she did with Fabulous on the last album was just okay. I had no fucking idea that was her in the pic. I thought it was Nikki Minaj. I want the old Amerie back. Damn Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

shes changed her look about 4 times while working on the new ep and album, it was a surprise to her fans that she is gonna release an ep first, but not that surprising she was doing quite a few mix tapes a few years back and leaking them. Incidentally, the producer of the track is Bernard "Focus" Edwards, Jr., the son of Chic's co-founder and bassist Bernard Edwards.

Ameriie doesnt play around, she gets who she wants not who they tell her to work with "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F
