I just read a Spin magazine article about the emergence of Korean pop music. It explained the whole machine that runs performers through a rigorous process of singing, dancing, composition, acting et al for a two year period. It's pretty fascinating and the whole scene seems like a lot of fun, something missing from pop radio in america as of late.

K-Pop just sounds like American pop to me but in Korean. To each his own of course.

But i find it funny there are tons of amazing asian musicians, artists etc. Out there but they bring the one that sounds most like American pop

Korean and Japanese artists get their influences HERE.

The music has absolutely been duplicated. But those girls from Girls' Generation are better singers than 10 Rhiannas and Beys, in my estimation.

I think it's more of the fact that they are a different race. It's nice to see people who aren't the typical white and black get attention. With that said it is the same as ours.
