This reminds me of when I was DONE with Tom Joyner's Morning Circus or whatever it's called when they asked: "Who is the Best Girl Group" and it was a battle between The Supremes, En Vogue and Destiny's Child and they were pretty much saying "well the Supremes ain't even in it", I was THROUGH!

lol

Yeah, it amazes me how they get dismissed in today's music market. The Supremes were the shiznet.

Not really, all were strong vocally, great harmonies and smooth sounds....

Let's look at the comp....

TLC... lol

SWV...meh

DC.....lol x1000

Group politics naturally came into play, but still the last great female vocal group, anyone else is just uncivilized.

En Vogue had no comp IMO, they had they're own lane in the 90's, they were the modern day R&B act that you and your parents liked.

TLC, SWV, and Xscape were more of the R&B/Hip Hop mold, the kids, teens(ME! LOL!), and young adults loved them back in the 90's, some of the parents not so much.

By the time Destiny's Child got popular I was outta high school but I remember when I first saw the video for No No No thinking that Beyonce would end up solo at some point because she was clealry the star of the group.

during that time, it seems En Vogue & TLC both had 'crossover' success.

They had a broad career.

I don't think they can be compared in the realm of competition.

They're presentations were too different.

Weren't Salt n Pepa still on the scene then. They had wide crossover success too for a "rap" group.

Hell naw. That was the most horrible look I had seen in a long time. It looked like they were trying to achieve the Rick James or Peaches and Herb look but didn't have the patience or money to sit there and get the small braids done so they did bigger ones instead. It just looked "shit hop" looking.

That was the goal. My problem with Jade was that their image didn't match their music at all. They were beautiful women, then they got put in those damn dukey braids.. UGH! They didn't look like that when the album package was shot, then they did the braids for the video and they kept doing braids.

The straight answer is NO. In every language, on every planet, in every galaxy! lol

I cannot express what huge heroes En Vogue are to me. Them splitting and all this record label BS is one of the biggest travesties on music history.
