Turns out Adele's comment to Vogue magazine that she was taking a five-year break was definitely exaggerated. In an interview with the French radio station NRJ, the singer revealed she'll have a new song out by the end of 2012, though her new album will take a bit longer to arrive.

"There'll be a new song probably coming out at the end of the year," Adele said, but added that her next album won't be out for at least another two years. "I have to write another record," she explained. "If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album. But because I write my own songs I have to take time, and live a little bit." She noted, "It was a good two years before my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time."

As for what that new song coming out at the end of the year may be, Adele has been rumored for months to have recorded the theme for the next James Bond film, Skyfall, due out in October. Stay tuned on that one.

In the interview, Adele insisted she's not feeling any pressure to follow up the astonishing success of 21. "You know, I never, ever expected the success of my first album, either, let alone now many record's this one's sold," she said. "So I don't think I'll ever feel the pressure for my next record to be as big as the last one, because I know it's not really possible, and what happened with this one is very rare anyway." Regardless, any pressure she might feel, she added, would come from herself.

Also in the interview, Adele denied reports that she made a sex tape, and said pretty much anything you read about her in the papers is a lie, since she very rarely gives interviews. She also said she wished she could have duetted with late R&B legend Etta James, but since that's no longer possible, she'd love to sing with her idol, Beyonce.

Take your time Adele.

Hahaha I knew that 5-year thing was fake. I can take two years. Hell 2012 is already half-done.

Yeah, either she lost hella weight or they photoshopped the hell outa that picture (see cover of O magazine for reference).

She's got flawlwss skin, gorgeous eyes, and luscious lips... She'll slay with her looks if she's shed that much weight...

I always thought she was very pretty and yes she has been losing weight. Slow and doing it the RIGHT way. Im so happy for her and cant wait for the new material!

I can't wait for the next album. She said the whole 5 year thing was a lie and she never said it and that, the direction of the next album while be different (content wise) from this album. She's in love now, no need to write a break-up record.

And she's defiantly lost weight, kinda funny that it hasn't been more documented as some of the others. She was cute when she was "fat" but now she's just gorgous.

I'm sure she lost some weight from surgery, I'm just surprised she's keeping it off after giving up smoking.

I really hope she has stopped smoking, her voice isn't strong enough like Aretha or Whitney's to withstand longterm abuse like that.

She has always been a pretty girl, she was just big so noone really took notice. I'm thinking she lost weight because she couldn't eat after her surgery. But generally when people stop smoking they blow up like balloons. We'll see.

Adele's comment about living a little bit in order to write her songs is great.

Well I guess we'll have that to look forward to on her new album. I'm sure Beyonce and her people will make sure this happens.

Hopefully Adele doesn't try to start selling sex as it looks like on this picture. Hopefully her next album will be just as good or better than 21
