Anyone remember when this was in regular rotation on BET?

What happened to him? Isn't he Donnie Simpson's brother? Loved him in Kool & The Gang.

J.T. Taylor is a tremendous talent, but I don't think he ever found the right material to establish him as a huge solo superstar."Long Hot Summer Night" is decent, but it's not extraordinary.I was thrilled when he reunited with Kool & The Gang in 1996.Unfortunately,it was a short-lived reunion. He bitterly departed (again) a few years later.

I love that song he had with Regina Taylor. I think it was called "forever" or something like that. It was in the movie "Tap".

No, it was the 90s.

If you listen to a lot of the r&b and pop songs of the late 80s and early 90s, they had this "euro" feel to the music. Lisa Stansfield, Sybil, Soul II Soul, etc. kinda established this sound. James JT came along in 91 (I think it was the end of 91) with this song.

Are Donnie Simpson and James T Taylor brothers?

Answer: Yes, Donnie Simpson mentioned this on one of the episodes of Video Soul just before introducing a video of Kool & The Gang

I also recall Donnie mentioning it right before he showed the Regina Belle/JT Taylor video "All I Want Is Forever".He implied that those two are an item, saying "And I should know, because JT is my brother".

That was a joke. I'm pretty sure they aren't related.

Donnie has also said that The Time were his brothers. I don't see that much of a resemblance between him and Monte. razz
