Jerry Reed ~ East Bound And Down

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Thought this might be some alternate music for the HBO series which is pretty funny.

And the theme song used by Freddie King is bangin'...

^^Never heard of that program, because I don't have cable/dish, just regular TV. Jerry Reed was in several Burt Reynolds movies in the 1970's.

Just joking really. I'm very hip to Jerry Reed.

More as a musician than an actor.

With Chet Atkins...

I've noticed country pickers generally don't get put on those greatest guitarist lists or featured in guitar magazines.

That tells you all you need to know about those "lists". wink

They do get props in mags like Guitar Player, Premier Guitar and Frets.

That cat could flat-out PLAY. I think he was one of three guys that Chet Atkins labelled a Master of the Guitar.

I don't really pay attention to much modern country, so I'm not familiar with him. But Roy Clark is pretty good.
