How good is Me'shell Ndgeocello live?? She's coming to my town to perform at the jazz festival but i'm afraid she will perform a jazz set I like her music a lot but would't like seeing her play jazz music..
What are your experiences with her concerts??

No experience, but from what I heard, go and expect nothing.

Yeah, that's best.
I saw her last year November, during the first go-round of promoting Weather. The set consisted mostly of material from Weather and Devil's Halo. Older material was dramatically reworked ("Shoot'n Up and Gettin' High" became a hushed acoustic number). I didn't mind as her last two albums are really, really good works. But, if you expect a high energy show, you might be dissapointed.
Then again, she may switch it up completely. Hard to know with Ms. Ndegeocello.

I've seen her touring for Devil's Halo and her Prince cover show. Both were spectacular. I'd recommend going to see her if she's in your town. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Yeah she really runs the gambit. If she's dropping a funky album then expect to be hit in the jaw. I would think her jazz set would be like a prince set. Some reworked toned down versions with some rock/funk in the middle since that's where her needles landing on of late.
I went to a preview show of The world has made me the man of my dreams and it was otherworldy. I've also seen her ala Bitter and was put to sleep by the lack of energy in the set. [Edited 5/14/12 14:06pm]
