Justin Bieber makes Carly Rae Jepsen an international pop star Like him or not (I'm not a fan ), the power of Bieber cannot be denied. He now even has the power to make someone else a star The beneficiary of such a power? Bieber's countrywoman, Carly Rae Jepsen. Last September, the Canadian Idol alum (she made top 3 in her season) released a song, "Call Me Maybe". It was a huge hit in Canada, but she was signed to a small label and it seemed her career and success would be confined to her country. Enter Bieber. While in Canada 1 day, he heard the song on the radio, became obsessed with it, and eventually called Jepsen. He then got her signed to his manager's label, and tweeted to his fans about his new favorite song. The result? An international smash hit. Currently, "Call Me Maybe" is #5 on itunes, #18 on the hot 100, and reached #1 or top 5 in multiple other countries.
Now, I think this is actually quite a catchy song and deserves to be a hit, but it's also somewhat scary to think that 1 18 year old has so much influence and power
here's the song for those of you who haven't yet heard it.

I hate this song. I'm in Canada and I been hearing it forever.

She souds like Taylor Swiftt; voice and style. “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”

The song is nothing special. She doesn't deserve to be an international pop star.
