I was heartbroken when Big Baby Jesus died. They are gonna make a movie on him-one of the guys from The Wire will play him. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I know.. I just like DMX to.
I use to didnt think that much of him until I started listening to his material.

I have to admit, I kept my ears to the Swizz Beats golden age era 99/00, but in retrospect, this stuff sound dated to me. At least in comparision to ODB.
This guy's WHOLE career seems like a lost chapter from the P-Funk era.

X is on his own plane but if you wanna compare, ODB even has him beat. I love them both too.

Well, lol, who has the longer rap sheet? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Earl Simmons of course.

I don't know... how many times was ODB arrested?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
ODB was arrested A LOT. MTV named him their number 1 newsmaker in 98-said he was makint more news than CNN "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

ODB all the way! | |

There's no one who can rap like ODB...no one. His flow was like no other...bi-polar style paired with his half-singing vibe, All you have to do is start with "Da Mystery of Chessboxin'"...CLASSIC.
ODB starts @ 1:40

ODB was actually a genius with what he was doing...

love ODB, but I'mma roll with my man Dark Man X. He made TWO classic albums, stone-cold classics. It's Dark and Hell is Hot... and Flesh of my Flesh Blood of my Blood. And he made two more albums that are pretty close to being classics...... And Then There Was X and The Great Depression.
ODB was a brilliant rapper but his greatness was limited to sporadic appearances on Wu songs and he definitely never made a classic solo album.
Song for song, verse for verse, X wins. |

This thread should've been "Swiss Beats OR RZA?" !!!
But since it's about the MCs instead of the DJs/beatmakers, my vote goes to DMX.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
If it was the former, then RZA would be my pick, hands down. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

You put it in a nutshell, there.
With all these MCs walking around with 10+ alter egos to their names sounding like the SAME damn person lol ODB was the one who really put down the Dr.jekyll & Mr.Hyde dynamic in his music. [Edited 3/26/12 18:46pm]
