Rihanna has revealed that she has started work on her new album.

The singer only released her last studio project Talk That Talk in November last year but, in an interview with Capital FM, she said she had already begun sketching out the early stages of her next record.

She said:

''I'm definitely thinking about the next record. I'm a multi-tasker. Right now we're working on collecting and creating the sound first before we even start working on the lyrical direction or melodies. I kind of have an idea though, and it's very rough right now. So I'm eager to start that.''

Earlier this week , Rihanna shrugged off criticism that she was a bad role model for young women, and insisted that she wouldn't tone down her racy image or controversial videos because it would compromise her art.

She previously came under fire from singer Will Young, who said her lyrics were "not empowering" for young women, while the video for her single ''We Found Love'' was described as a "disgrace" by anti-rape campaigners after it showed her being spanked by male model Dudley O'Shaughnessy. Pressure groups also called for the video for her single ''Man Down'' to be banned after they claimed it promoted murder.

And Man Down was a shitty "song" anyways.

Damn,this broad drops an album every other month and it's always crapola. Oh well, more power to her. Her along with Beyonce do not believe in breaks at all...

Wow. Can't say I'm surprised. She and her mentor Beyonce is the epitome of "striking while the iron is hot". I guess this is why most of the stuff is disposable. What's funny is that they probably think they're just "ambitious".

I'm starting to get the feeling that people are getting tired of her. Besides the first single, none have touched the top 10 and TTT hasn't crossed 1 million copies sold yet. Even Rated R had 3 top 10 singles and that album was way more risky than this one. If I wasn't such a fan of music and got on music sites, I'd swear she had just 1 loooooooooong era that started 2 years ago.

I guess it's easy to release album after album when all the work is done for you.

RiRi looks pretty, but why is she in her bathrobe? And this is what RiRi does, you all should be used to it by now.

"Birthday Cake" is the only single I like from TTT. We Found Love is annoying as hell to listen to, and the song Talk That Talk is meh.

I think first thing is that we should rephrase "rihanna begins work on a new album", he producers and writers are starting the work. lets not make it seem that she is inspired to go into the studio and work on a record and spent time writing. Also i agree that her run is getting tired, that "honeymoon" period for her is wearing out, america is slow but after a few years we catch on. I mean it took us about 5 years or so to realize the Iraq war was wrong and a lie, so why would we catch on to rihanna sooner

RiRi is a hot ass mess-to be honest when she was singing Pon The Replay or whatever it was I liked her alot better She's just fake now in more ways than one.

"Good Girl Gone Bad" and "Rated R" were actually good albums. Especially the latter. I haven't really enjoyed her albums after that however. I've only enjoyed some of her singles. She does need to take a break though. I'm getting tired of her. She needs to remember "quality of quantity".

I would be doing that too if I had all the money to make the albums I wanted to...difference is she is not putting any personality in her albums...kinda seem like they are all just stamped by her after song submissions..no theme, no plot. The albums dont seem to make 'sense'. No theme.. .just songs put together.

Working on creating a new sound? Really Rihanna?

Well, at least she doesn't make claims that she came up with the certain ideas and steal writting credits.
