Muddy Waters B'day Tribute I'll avoid starting with the obvious tracks (which will probably come) but instead, focus on one of his more unique (some may say controversial) releases. A brain storm/fart (depending on who you ask) of Marshall Chess hoping to capitalize on the success of Rotary Connection's first album. Instead of using Muddy's normal band, he put the Rotary Connection musicians behind him and did a few of his classics, along with a few covers, in a psychedelic setting. Arrangements were done by the talented Charles Stepney.
"That Electric Mud record was dogshit. But when it came out, it started selling like wild, but then they started sending them back. They said, 'This can't be Muddy Waters with all this shit going on, all this wha-wha and fuzztone.' "~Muddy Waters
Happy B'day Mr. Morganfield
