He seriously fucked Reasons up! That is not a song to be sung by weak voices. You have to be able to hit Phillip's notes to even get a pass on that one.

again if ur "sketching" over a painting u have something 2 work with, i seriously doubt he could pull a original song off singing like that.

I think Randy & Steven is looking more at his looks than his voice in comparison. I thought it was a good compliment. But i've always hated that song. Because Eric Benet' is obviously copying Prince's vocal style. I mean he already married his sloppy seconds now he is trying to sing like him. Anywho De'Andre is one of my favorites on AI. But Jimmy Levine seems very unimpressed with him & tore him a new one in his criticism of poor De'andre ...

jimmy levine is sometimes a idiot. when he was trying 2 talk the one girl singing billy joel's "down the alexia river" saying no one knows that song

obviously people do otherwise it wouldn't have been on the list songs available 2 do that week

He does seem very arrogant & full of himself....Most of them don't even listen to his advice....

Don't be dissin' on "Reasons." That song is one of the best of all time (especially in the r&b genre). No, Prince probably couldn't pull that off or any EWF that Philip Bailey sings lead on.

I like EWF a lot, but I. Loathe. That. Song. Every time I hear Bailey's voice in it, I feel like windows are breaking.

I think over time, if DeAndre continues to force the issue with choosing songs on his own, people here may begin to see just how strong his skill is. He really is fantastic, with a very wide range. It's just that until this past week, he's been poorly represented by stupid tracks picked by that Iovine dude.

OMG! Thank you somuch for pointing this out. I had steamcoming out of my ears when they said Mariah did the original song. Usually Randy Jackson is good at clarifying who the original singer was but he didn't say anything this time. That is a big oversight on their part and not cool at all.

I still don't get all the hate towards DeAndre. Ithink he is so talented and should maybe even win the competition. I need him to sing some Terence Trent D'arby next week for 80s night. I think he would rock Wishing Well!

I agree!! I like him. He sings a hell of a lot better than Prince did when he was 17. This guy will be a star in the future. He need more experience and to fine tune it but if you listen to Prince on For u its not that good vocally. This guy will be great adn sounds damn good now

J-Lo made it clear that she was the only vote to save him. Steven and Randy voted against keeping him.

I agree with Jimmy Iovine, he is not all of that and has not shown any growth since he's been on the show.
