Robin Gibb Undergoes Emergency Colon Operation

March 28, 2012
Link

Ailing Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb, who has been battling colon and liver cancer of late, had an emergency operation on Monday to remove a clot that caused a perforation of his colon, according to a message on the pop star's website.

The note also reveals that Gibb underwent an earlier procedure to treat a twisted intestine, while maintaining that the surgeries are not connected to his bout with cancer.

The message report says the operation was successful and that Gibb "is awake and has been talking to his doctors," while adding that the singer "is currently being monitored and resting in the hospital and his family are hoping for his full recovery."

Damn, that man's been through enough! eek Glad they caught it in time. Hope he continues to heal.

I have 2 close friends who died of similar ailments (colon that spread to liver ) .

They both lasted about 2 years ... give or take a month ...

People hear the words vegetarian or vegan and assume someone who eats healthy. I think Robin eats healthy, not sure. His medical problems could be genetic. But you can be a vegan and just eat french fries and bread. Vegan just means no animal products, not that a person eats healthy or natural foods.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Robin was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2011. He had thought he was suffering from common stomach problems before the disease was detected.

Sorry to hear that. The Bee Gees have made some of the greatest songs ever recorded. I wish him well.
