The Brand New Heavies - Shelter (with Siedah Garrett) Album Appreciation Thread First let me say, I dig The Heavies with N'dea Davenport, but Siedah Garrett gave the Heavies some other flavor with this album. I still enjoy to this day. It's a solid album, very underrated and slighlty overlooked. A classic.
First Single - "Sometimes"

I didn't pay attention to this album and didn't buy it, but I did like the one with Nicole Russo. I wonder why they didn't do another rap album, since the other one was titled Heavy Rhyme Experience Vol 1. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton | |
