That was Babyface....Tony Rich did Nobody Knows....maybe he turned into John Legend Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I forgot all about this dude. I respected him as an artist but I couldn't get into his music. Too bland and kinda dull.
I remember in 1997 or 98 he was hanging out and jamming with greats like Stevie Wonder and P. I figured some of that would have rubbed off on him but I guess not.

he did the right thing and got the fuck out of the way of everyone.
this guy had the personality of a brick wall, with some of the most dull music heard in music history.
i'd rather listen to a compilation of fart sounds than anything by this guy.
and what person calls themself tony rich?
was he richie rich's cousin? did he bum maculey culkin or something?
listening to any of his songs is equivalent to killing someone.

The last time I saw him he came on to jam on the piano with Prince during one of the Paisley shows following Emancipation. Prince kept stopping the band while Tony was playing so he could eek out little solos on the Gold Axxe. Tony looked kinda pissed and left the stage pretty quickly. Ahhh...Prince can be a dick when he wants to be. I think after Tony left the stage, Prince said something like "Learn your instruments, people!" "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Damn you reached way down in that Walmart CD barrell!
I only remember the video. I enjoyed all those matted colors and the cool clothes he and the video model were wearing. Very trendy for that time.
I miss the 90s I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

Hell yes I remember Tony Rich too. I liked his music. I forgot he's no longer on the charts though. So yeah, Script really did reach into the Walmart barrel with this one. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I know everyone loves to hate Bolton, but his 1996 effort was overlooked. He thankfully reigned in his voice more. Tony Rich wrote the track and produced it with Bolton. Tony did a few other tracks on the album aswell. Nothing amazing, but it's nice stuff nonetheless. Tony's backing vocals on "Fallin'" are pretty smooth aswell.
As for Tony himself, I only ever liked "nobody knows", and his vocal stylings completely ripped off Babyface's LOL.

Was he even on a major label? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Technically, yes. He was signed to a major. His debut album Words was released on La Face, which was a subsidiary of Arista Records.
