Timmy, I think it's a smart move. What's really going to break or make him is the video for whatever single he puts out.
I just hope he is successful. If it all goes south, I don't think we'll hear from him again. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Jesse is far from a household name. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Well, whatever happens, D'Angelo isn't going to sell anything much mainstream wise. But he never has, really. And he's got more then enough fans who'll check him out live so it doesn't matter.

Voodoo debuted at number one-I call that pretty much mainstream "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

I meant at one time he was famous. Maybe not now, but he was. I was there at his show in the late 80's & there were A list stars, Eddie Murphy, all kinds of people. It was packed. He had a following. He may not be a household name, but he was known in his day. Jesse was the shit. Before you go posting charts, sales, and all that, Jesse's music was played at the parties, dances, and heard bumping out of people's cars. You can't chart that.

I misread, 2crazy. Glad he is doing north sea-he did that on the voodoo tour. Did he take the voodoo tour to Canada-I never hear of rnb acts touring there. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

This is a video of when he was at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2000. I so can't wait till he comes to America and drops the new album. The anticipation is killing me!

I miss that D, the Voodoo tour D. I think he won't ever be dancing like that again. Kinda feel cheated-like if he had done a couple more tours and cds before he dropped out, i guess the new type of concerts wouldn't be so jarring, but they are. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

You don't particularly care for the newer performances?

Its been over a decade since D performed. Dont be to critical. His still getting his feet wet. I think his doing a fantastic job so far. Im sure his performances will just keep getting better.

It's gonna always be like that when someone takes a long break, and you don't have a chance to really see a step by step evolution. I would really like him to do an interview. I know he doesn't want to, and I don't blame him. But I would just like to hear what he has to say, not about his absence, but just about the new music. I was listening to this interview he did with a Swedish radio station and I wonder if he thinks the same way. It's below. It's from the Voodoo period, just so you know. At first I thought it was recent.

I wonder if he thinks the same way as well, but I mean that was 12 years ago, we all change. It will be very interesting to see what media outlets he gives interviews to. i think he will talk to a european publication first-as I have said before, he is worshiped over there.
Over here, well, he has been ripped up and down. D is very press shy-he is VERY introverted and shy and I think it will painful for him to deal with the press again, esp in the US "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

With all the technology now, he can interview himself. Have his people do it, then its only questions that he wants answered, and he can talk about only the topics he wants. I would love for him to do something like the Voodoo promo.
