Madonna on Whitney Houston: ‘I Wish I Could Sing Like That’

By TGJ/Kcool

madgewhit Madonna on Whitney Houston: I Wish I Could Sing Like That

As one of few reigning pop monarchs left, many have been keen on Queen of Pop Madonna‘s thoughts on the passing of pop icon Whitney Houston.

While for years the two were touted as rivals as they dominated 80s and 90s charts with few comparison, Madge took to UK paper The Sun to remember the ‘I Will Always Love You’ singer and also share her thoughts on late “blue eyed soulstress” Amy Winehouse.

Get into the ‘Girls Gone Wild’ wailer’s words below:

Madonna, via ‘The Sun’:

“I, probably like everybody else, was hit by this shocking sense of disbelief – especially with Whitney Houston. It had not been a secret, the struggles Amy had been through — both brilliant, brilliant artists and obviously both huge losses.

“But when these things happen, I’m always shocked by the first thing you say — ‘It’s such a loss’ — which doesn’t quite cover it. Then you reflect and you think, ‘How did it happen? How did the people around them allow it to happen?’ We’ve lost so many great artists that way when you think about it. So history just kind of repeats itself over and over.

“One thing I was struck by with Whitney Houston is I remember she sort of came out as a singer around the same time I did. I remember looking at her singing and hearing people talk about her, and just thinking, ‘Oh my God. She’s such a beautiful woman and my God, what an incredible voice. I wish I could sing like that.’

I just remember being extremely envious of her and also touched by her innocence.

“I was watching a documentary about Serge Gainsbourg, the French songwriter, and there’s a famous talk show he did that happened a while back when Whitney was just starting. It was funny, because I’d just watched it the week before she died, where he was making a kind of play for her on national television and he was basically saying in French that he wanted to ‘f’ her — and the look of shock on her face…

I mean, she was so innocent and so young, and so cute, and really she blushed. And I was thinking, ‘We are all innocent at one stage in our life. It’s just interesting, the paths our lives take. I was struck by that — how well she started and where she ended up and the tragedy of it.”

What's bothering me is how folks gone say her daughter is not pretty eek that's cold. She looks like her father and she's alright with me. I hope she grows into a respectable young lady and hope the money doesn't corrupt her.

Krissy grew into her looks the last year or two. She actually was a mixture of her dad's and mom's relatives with the Brown side being stronger than the Houston side though for some reason Krissy kinda has her grandfather's looks. In fact she's starting to look like her mother. That gap is what makes her Brown looks stand out.

I got this feeling , too. It doesn't really make any sense, I mean, why would you fake emotion for your deceased sister when it's perfectly natural for you to feel emotion. But it seems like he thought it was expected. . . I don't know, it did seem staged to me and the fact that the camera was rolling, it seemed like Oprah was saying "That's it, that's what I'm looking for". And I say this not being an Oprah Hater. I happen to adore Oprah, but I didn't like that part.

She looks a lot different then she did when she was younger. It's like she turned into a swan. Same thing with Chelsea Clinton. America used to joke about what an ugg-mugg she was but today she's actually pretty decent.

Speaking of Whitney's looks and all. Did she have a nose job very early in her career? Some of those early pics of her appears like she may have had one. The tip of her nose seemed a little more rounder in some of those earlier pics. I could be wrong though. Just curious?

Make-up/shadow tricks were used on her nose to make it look a bit slimmer, but it was always the same.

Whitney’s mom confronte...o Enquirer

According to the Chicago Suntimes, a source close to Whitney Houston’s mother, Cissy Houston, revealed that Cissy confronted the traitor who sold the final photo of Whitney in an open casket to the National Enquirer.

The Houston family source said Cissy “had a come-to-Jesus moment” with the guilty party and demanded the alleged six-figure fee for the photo be donated to charity.

Insiders are whispering that the person who sold the final photo was most likely Whitney’s closest friend and sister-in-law, Pat Houston, who signed at least one deal to capitalize off of Whitney’s death.

hoever sold Whitney’s final photos to the Enquirer had private access to the death scene in Beverly Hills and the funeral home in New Jersey where Whitney’s body was kept for 5 days.

After Whitney died tragically in her Beverly Hills hotel bathtub on Feb. 11, the National Enquirer published photos of the food tray in Whitney’s hotel room, the still-wet bathroom and Whitney’s open casket.

Whitney only traveled with her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, her sister-in-law Pat, and her bodyguard. Sources believe that Pat and the bodyguard may have conspired to sell the final photos for a big payday.

In the 90-minute special for Oprah’s Next Chapter, which aired on Oprah’s OWN Network on Sunday, Pat told Oprah that she was upset with the person who published the photographs — not who sold the photos. A strange choice of words.

There is also the product placement during Pat’s interview with Oprah. I won’t mention the name of the company, but their products were on prominent display throughout the interview.

Pat mentioned the name of the product several times during the interview. At one point she claimed that Whitney had planned to film an infomercial for that particular product before she died. But has Whitney ever filmed an infomercial?

Pat seemed to be benefitting financially by promoting the product during her interview with Oprah — and Oprah allowed Pat to promote the product on her show — or she would not have access to Bobbi Kristina.

It might also explain why Bobbi Kristina never sat down with Oprah during the interview. Bobbi K. probably knew that both women were using her for their own financial gains.

Dionne Warwick thinks Whitney Houston had 'heart attack'

Dionne Warwick has her own theory about what killed Whitney Houston.

"You know, in all honesty, I think she had a heart attack," she tells Entertainment Tonight in an interview airing tonight. "That's what I think happened to her." When asked about possible drug use playing a role, Warwick added, "I don't know if it's that or not. I think her heart just gave out."

Warwick also said she had mixed feelings when she accompanied Houston's body from Los Angeles to New Jersey. "It was a combination of things, stories, laughter, tears. All the emotions that you feel when somebody very near to you passes."

Meanwhile, according to CNN, Houston's toxicology report should be "complete on or around March 23."

NBC News Pays Whitney Houston's Hairstylist For Photos

NBC News nabbed an exclusive interview with Tiffanie Dixon, one of the few people present in Whitney Houston's hotel room at the time of her death, but it wasn't for free.

The network, which has spoken out against the practice of "paying" for interviews, reportedly licensed photos from Dixon, Houston's hairstylist, when they interviewed her for two NBC News shows, "Dateline" and "Today."

While American networks forbid "paying" people for interviews, they sometimes pay individuals licensing fees for their photos or videos in exchange for exclusive interviews. The controversial practice is seen as unethical by some.

It is unclear how much NBC News paid for Dixon's photographs, though TVNewser wrote that $10,000 to $20,000 is a typical price tag. ABC News and CBS News also told TVNewser that they were approached with the offer but passed.

Rival news bureaus NBC and ABC had a rather testy exchange about this very subject in July 2011. ABC News announced that the network was suspending the practice after some heated criticism. ABC News paid Casey Anthony $200,000 in 2008, and paid Meagan Broussard $10,000-15,000 for photos that she exchanged with former Congressman Anthony Weiner. The latter photographs were aired during a "20/20" special.

When ABC made the announcement, it opened up a war of words with NBC. A NBC News representative told Ad Week, "We agree that their recent activity has been bad for journalism and the news industry. And we welcome them back to the practices that we work hard to uphold."

ABC's Barbara Walters recently upheld the network's new standard after rumors swirled that she was reportedly asking ABC News to pay Pippa Middleton a six-figure sum for an exclusive interview. "ABC News does not pay for interviews," Walters pressed during her daytime talk show "The View."

Bobbi Kristina and Whitne...dating!!!!

When news of Whitney Houston’s tragic death was announced on Feb. 11, everyone’s thoughts were with her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, 19. Few people knew she had a so-called “adopted son,” named Nick Gordon. Later we learned that Whitney took Nick in when he was 11-years-old, but she never formally adopted him.

Now we find out that sometime after Nick moved into Whitney’s home, he started getting real intimate with her daughter. Bobbi K. and Nick were spotting kissing and holding hands together last Friday outside a Target store in Johns Creek, Georgia,

And last night, Nick updated his Twitter page to let everyone know: “Yea we got a little closer and what!!!” He also posted a new pic of himself and Bobbi Kristina together. This is the same dude who was reportedly being evicted from Whitney’s home. I guess that’s not happening now.

Plus, judging from tweets & photos, Whitney knew about this relationship and didn’t put a stop to it, letting Bobbi Kristina and Nick live under the same roof.

What do YOU think about this shocking news? Is it sweet that Bobbi Kristina is in love with someone who’s been in her life for a decade, or is it disturbing she is dating her so called adobted BROTHER!!!!?

Whitney Houston's Daughter Bobbi Kristina Dating Her "Adopted Brother" Nick Gordon

Bruna Nessif, eonline

If you're wondering who's keeping Bobbi Kristina warm at night throughout all this mayhem following her mother Whitney Houston 's death, we'll tell you (and it might surprise you).

The 19-year-old and her " big brudder " Nick Gordon have confirmed that the two of them are dating via Twitter.

But before you get all judgmental, know the facts...

Bobbi Kristina's and her " other half " are not blood-related.

A source close to Houston's daughter tells E! News that the two of them met when they were younger, and Nick was going to enlist in the Army after high school to escape his family problems. According to our source, Bobbi Kristina told Whitney about Nick's plans and expressed that she didn't want him to go, so Whitney agreed to take Nick in as her own.

The source also described Nick as a very great person and a great friend. He is very laid back, smart, and very supportive. He was the "man" of the house since Bobby Brown was never around.

As expected, some people found Bobbi and Nick's relationship controversial, so Gordon made sure to set the record straight and show that people's opinions don't faze them or their desire to be together.

"Yea we got a little closer and what!!!… All the haters that dont know us or th real story can't un follow me. I don't give a f--k," he tweeted . "I've proved my loyalty to her and the Houston family. I don't owe any of you anything. Ha I don't even know y'all haters….Some ppl have no lives so they gotta be in ours," he said .

He went on to tweet , "For the stupid ppl out there she gave birth to 1 child. And she trusted me with EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!…She called me her me " God Son" I swear some ppl in this world act like they don't have a brain…"

disbelief@Why he's tweeting in such an immature manner.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I don't know if you guys have already discussed this aspect of the story already but imagine the betrayal Bobbi would feel if it turns out to be true that her aunt Pat sold out her mother, by selling that picture to The Enquirer? That could be devastating. sad Maybe that's why Cissy quietly dropped the investigation. Maybe she's trying to protect Bobbi right now by not telling yet. idk, just speculating out loud.....

I wouldn't trust anyone right now but her grandmother.

Looking at that clip Whitney handled herself very well which is pretty embarrassing. That old dude was so disrespectful. I bet you if he would've said that to her in her prime....oh he definitely would've been cursed out.
