Ministry - Everyday Is Halloween

Anyone remember this goth dance track from the mid-1980's? This was being played in a lot of clubs at that time, but the band itself sort of went on to a much harder alt-metal sound later in their career.

music evillol boogie typing

There early work reminds me of early PSB... Although i do prefer Ministry's there more heavy industrial work. There early work is classic to cool

I could never get into early ministry until way after Psalm 69 came out and I went through a retro industrial dance phase with old Nitzer Ebb, Front Line Assembly and Front 242. But now I love it.

Change it one more time..

They (and others) were quite important in shaping the sound of industrial music as we know it today.

Not saying they were the first, just that they helped.

Realizing how much influence Ministry had on the movement of industrial from 88-92 (and enjoying that period), I still prefer Alain's work from 80-86. His Wax Trax years, along with his self-maligned sojourn to Arista and first album on Sire, just have a certain apeal. I've never understood why the Wax Trax singles and Twitch don't get more praise. They definitely had an influence on Trent Reznor's first album. As much as Uncle Al will forever downplay (read "shit on") his work pre-88, it is in many ways as good or better than his MTV heyday.

I love Everyday is Halloween. Curious if the original poster has heard Alain's hard remake of this track from a couple years ago (look it up on iTunes or Youtube). It just doesn't work like the original. Never thought I'd see him even go near or acknowledge anything from that part of his career ever again. Not sure he should have either.
