Boogilicious: Sy Smith feat. Rahsaan Patterson - Nights (Feel Like Gettin Down)

About one week ago I tried to create some buzz in here regarding one of my favorite singers SY SMITH but no one seemed to take notice ..

Maybe, with the help of her charming new video, she will get some more attention?!

Her new album FAST AND CURIOUS is available via bandcmamp. It's a descent mixture of 80's Funk,

contemporary acid jazz & house vibes.

I love Sy! Her voice is sooo smooth. I love this Billy Ocean cut too...nice to hear someone covering something more obscure. I haven't heard the new CD yet but it's on my wishlist.

I dont know the Billy Ocean Original, so this song is new to me. But, of course, it has this strong 80's vibe all over ...

Since I love Sy's elder albums from 2005/2008 so much, which she has done together with her husband/partner, whatever, FAST AND CURIOUS entirely produced by Mark de Clive-Lowe came as a surprise. I had to get used to it but now I love every track. Besides, she is a truly nice person, an independent soul queen who deserves to get some mainstream attention.

I guess you're talking 'CRAZY YOU' but this is not on Zo's album, is it? Or have they done another Prince cover which I dont know eek ? 'Crazy You' is wonderful, indeed! wink
