Lots of great songs and "Golden Touch" is one of their forgotten slow jams over the years that needs to be revived on radio.

The music of Rose Royce brings back special memories for me. I was just walking around the city a few weeks ago while listening to the "Car Wash" soundtrack CD, marveling at what a great production it was. The arrangements on that album were flawless, and worth studying.

Yes I caught the episode this year when they ran a marathon of Unsung old episodes. That was a great show. I wish they can put aside their differences and reunite with original singer (Gwen) its been over 30 years.

They were a great band under the direction of Norman Whitfield their producer but once they left him the magic wasn't there. They don't get enough credit as a band I think because they write and produce their own material.

Their Unsung was very interesting.I always wondered why Gwen Dickey left the band and never looked back. There was alot of ugly drama there.Althought it was never mentioned in the Unsung,I suspect that Gwen was "involved" with Norman Whitfield, which is probably what created alot of the drama.

Although it was never mention, I suspect the same thing nod

Plus, the fellas never wanted a female member lol so drama was already there

That's why I didn't care for their episode too much. It was similar to Shalamar's...they were all so catty with each other. confused

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

You know it never dawned in me that Norman and Gwen may have been involved it makes sense now.

What doesnt make sense is if they didnt originally want a female singing lead why fire Gwen yet hire another female lead?

I've always like "Funkin' Around" off the Golden Touch album. The fellows went crazy over that song in high school. That and "I Wanna Make It With You"

The guys had already formed their own band in LA, & the female singer was an outsider. I loved the theme song from Carwash, and the movie lol music cool
