Keith Sweat has had a lien put on his Georgia home after his Detroit home was foreclosed on

According to TMZ reports:

R&B singer Keith Sweat is singing the foreclosure blues … because even after the bank took his house and sold it … he’s still on the hook for $250,000 — this according to a new lawsuit.

PMI Mortgage filed the lawsuit against Sweat in Georgia — claiming the singer defaulted on a $450,000 mortgage on his Detroit home, which he purchased in 2004.

Problem is — the house was drowning underwater … so when the bank sold it, it only recouped $200,000 … a fraction of its losses.

PMI Mortgage sued Sweat for the balance — $253,000 — and since Keith failed to respond, a judge ruled in PMI’s favor. PMI has since sought a lien on Keith’s Georgia property in a last ditch effort to get its money.

How in the hell is this man broke? He has been constantly touring for YEARS! Not to mention he has a syndicated radio show that is in a lot of markets. I just don't get it.

There all tweens/teens except for the youngest boy which is a toddler. The boys are 16 and 13 I believe and the girls are 15 and 17 I think. Can't recall exact ages of the girls but one is definitely on her way to being kicked off the child support rolls. The youngest is supposedly the result of a dalliance with a stripper and he doesn't claim the kid but pays for the kid. shrug I know with the boys, he sued the ex for custody and won but that dragged on for a couple years so he still paid!

Wow... you'd think with the money he generated from songs he wrote and produced, he'd be set. Guess some folks shouldn't have kids. I actually had no idea he had children until recently...

This is why he still working he wrote & produced his own songs but Elektra Records robbed him blind and he ain't find out until 2002 and he got pissed at the label & they wouldn't promote his album Rebirth and he was off the label after that. Well after 2003's LSG album LSG-2 he was off and Silk was off by then cause they was done dirty by Elektra as well

That 250K figure doesn't make any sense to me. Keith never really struck me as the extravagant type. Wasn't he in finance or banking before he got his break?

Imagine all of the publishing on songs he's written that still get played today, his income should be more than 250K with his radio show, royalities and concerts.

I wonder if he's behind on his child support?
