Bruce Springsteen Keynote Speech SXSW 2012 I'm in Austin, been doing some film related events, and visiting old friends, but missed seeing this live.
But listen to this shit, it's really good:

I just watched/listened to it and was gonna start a thread, and saw yours. Here's where I watched it: http://www.npr.org/blogs/...p;cc=share
I find it somewhat in contrast to Prince's catchphrase (and kind of David Grohl, and others too) about "real music." Instead, Springsteen says "There is no right way, no pure way, of doing it. There is just doing it." Also kind of reminds me of Billy Joel's lyric "next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyways - it's still rock and roll to me." I found the speech very uplifting. A great piece on rock and roll (or "pop," as Springsteen called it) - its galvanizing, transformative power, its history, legacy, and future.

Turned away from the SxSW 3 years ago. Now overran by hipsters. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Wise beyond his years with this speech. I've always respected the Boss but now I do a little more.
Thanks for posting the video link!
