Kylie Minogue Opening Night of the Anti-Tour and KM25

Pop superstar Kylie Minogue has announced the first concert dates of her upcoming intimate Anti tour, celebrating the diva's 25th year in the business.

She'll play the Palace Theater in Melbourne, Australia on March 18 and then the Big Top at Luna Park in Sydney on March 20. Both venues have a capacity of about 2,000. It's expected that further dates of the tour will be announced soon, which may include a visit to the U.S. later this year.

The trek is aimed squarely at Minogue's very devoted fans, as the show will focus on rarities, b-sides and demo recordings.

"(The) Anti tour is something I'm very keen on. I think it's an interesting concept," she told Sky News in Sydney last weekend. "That's something that's really just for super fans. There's not going to be hit songs in that show, but it's a good balance to something like (the) Aphrodite (tour)."

The 2011 Aphrodite trek was an eye-popping, hits-filled global tour that played 77 shows on five continents. The bulk of the shows included 200 costumes, 30 water fountains, 10 dancers and eight acrobats.

Minogue also told Sky News that she's "already started work on the new album," which should be released later this year. The set will follow 2010's "Aphrodite," which debuted and peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart and reached No. 1 in the U.K.

The pop star's first single, "The Locomotion," was released in her native homeland of Australia, 25 years ago in 1987. In her quarter-century career, she has issued 11 studio albums and more than 50 singles.

Kylie Minogue

POP superstar Kylie Minogue didn't play a single hit at last night's intimate concerts at The Palace - and the fans loved her for it.

The antithesis of the usual concert format, the debut show of Minogue's ''anti-tour'' was witnessed by just 2000 of her biggest fans, for whom hearing her perform B-sides, demos and never-before-heard songs was as big a thrill - if not bigger - than hearing her mega-hits.

Last night's much-anticipated gig was a rare treat for hardcore fans to see their hometown idol in such a small setting. Australia's pop princess rarely plays venues of less than 12,000 capacity.

No fanfare... Kylie Minogue on stage at The Palace last night.

They had to do without the usual high-camp fanfare that accompanies Minogue's stadium shows - last year's Aphrodite tour featured more than 200 outlandish costumes, 10 dancers, a troupe of acrobats and 30 water fountains - but the crowd was as rapturous as any stadium.

The stripped-back affair featured Minogue, three back-up singers and a four-piece band, not one oiled-up buff dancer in sight. At least, not on stage.

Minogue announced the show just two weeks ago, as an extension of her visit to Australia for Sydney's Mardi Gras to commemorate her 25th anniversary in the music business, describing the concept as one ''for the super fans''.

In a different guise: Kylie Minogue's stripped-back concert at The Palace last night was a departure from the norm and a rare treat for 2000 devoted fans.

Minogue's first single, Locomotion, was released in Australia in 1987, and since then she has had 11 studio albums and more than 50 singles.

The low-key show sold out in less than 15 minutes, prompting the star to announce a second show for last night, which saw the most dedicated of her fans turn out for a midnight performance.

To prevent scalping of the in-demand tickets, promoter Frontier Touring restricted sales to just two tickets per person, and entry was strictly controlled via wristbands bearing the name of ticket buyers - but fans still queued around the block more than three hours before the show.

and plus the two totally reworked and recorded in one take and absoultly stunning tracks from the still to be announced with a sale date KM25

I LOVE the videos and pictures from last night. She looks adorable and this setlist is TO DIE for. I hope she brings this type of the show over to the states.

Looking forward to the next LP as well!

So I'm going this Tuesday as a work friend had a spare ticket, although I'm going to be sitting with some of his friends I've never met before. Bit daunting but at least Hammersmith isn't too far from home.

I've been a Kylie fan since I was 6 years old and I do know and own all of the setlist, but I don't know them word for word. I might feel a bit out of place with the tru die-hards that can sing along. Unfortunately my absolute favourites like 'Soul on Fire', 'Still Your Face' and 'Good Like That' haven't been performed yet.

If she did 'Loving Days' and 'Love Takes Over Me' that would be worth the ticket price alone.
