I haven't seen him live but all the live footage I've seen...he's "meh" as

a performer.

I think his strengths are songwriting and studiocraft. I'm only buying a live

album from Van Hunt for patronage purposes.

I gotta buy it.

"Her December" is one of my favorite Van Hunt songs. And I'm pleased that he's hitting the road more.

I'm happy that he's coming to Austin again but I hate that he'll be playing during SXSW when all of those people flock to town which means that everything will be overcrowded.

Album came out today.Been playing it all day. It's freakin awesome! Dude's music is sooo tight! The band is sick. The musicianship and live energy gives it a whole new experience. As someone who's seen Van Hunt live probably more than any one else on the planet (no joke) You know now that's it's costume for Van to roll 2 completely different and equally as good versions of every song he does. That's shown on this album with FUNKED up version of "Hello, Goodbye" and extra sexualized up version of "SNM" w/ drummer Ruthie Price adding a sexual explicit intro. "old songs" like Seconds of Pleasure and Down Here In Hell (with you) get extended plays. Also and edgier version of "Character" and a completely different version of "Her December". Van also does several 5 songs from the new album. All of which sound better live then on record!

Album is an digital release only. You can get at vanhunt.com or at iTunes/Amazon.com

Band is:

Van Hunt - Vocals, Bass, Guitar

Douglas Showalter - Guitar, Background Vocals

Peter Dyer - Keyboard & Synthesizer

Ruthie Price - Drums & Vocals
