Apollo inducting Lionel Richie and Etta James Singer-songwriter Lionel Richie and the late Etta James will be inducted into the Apollo Theater's hall of fame in New York City. The ceremony will be held at the historic Harlem theater on June 4. Richie performed with The Commodores at the Apollo in the 1970s. His hits include "Stuck on You," "Hello" and "Endless Love." James' versatile style included blues, soul, jazz, R&B and rock. She's known for ballads such as "At Last" and "Trust in Me." She performed at the Apollo in 1957 and again in the 1960s. Her last album, "The Dreamer," was released just three months before her death on Jan. 20. She was 73. Past Apollo Legends Hall of Fame inductees include Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin and Patti Labelle. The career of singer, song writer Lionel Richie will be feted in an entertainment special commissioned by ITV1 Studios - the UK broadcaster.
Titled This Is Lionel Richie, the program will feature Richie performing his greatest hits, as well as talking about his life in music. He'll also be joined in duets with Pixie Lott and X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson.
