I was pleasantly surprised by this song--I like it. "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Fantastic! It's nice to see her return to the style of music of her early albums, somewhat like pop and rock music. She's had a few releases since then but it's been some really weird genre of music like Irish folk songs or something like that.

Nice to have some new stuff from Sinead. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Yes, new stuff is great! Especially when it is the rockin', bald, whaling Sinead we all loved on her first couple of albums.
Welcome back Sinead! | |

Not to jack this thread, but what'd everyone thnk of Theology, as compared to this new stuff? [Edited 2/19/12 8:05am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

What an amazing song! She's the real deal...a true soul singer!

She's cool...but what a horrible look. The ugly ass tattoo and ill-fitting rick james leather gotta go. Tho, it is good to hear her passionate voice again.
Didn't Prince give her a shout out in Ireland recently? What are the odds of a duet? LOL.

Theology had some nice moments - but it was overwhelmed by its concept, and was a bit somber overall. Personally I think she's much better in a slightly rock mode. Her voice/lyrics can tip toward the sanctimnious, and a litlte edge helps that go down better.
Also, she just sounds like she's having fun on this new stuff.

Queen Of Denmark is brilliant. "That's when stars collide. When there's space for what u want, and ur heart is open wide."

Definitely. I'm loving the slight rock element of the new material that takes me back to her early records. I thought she saw herself as being above anything with a pop/rock element and that was somewhat fun or enjoyable. I'm pleasantly surprised that that isn't the case and it isn't all somber, serious and super-artistic but an accessible pop/rock record.

the show in LA was ridiculous!
went all the way down from SF to catch it and I am so glad that i did..
she mixed old stuff (last day of our acquaintance, jackie, never get old, 3 babies, no man's woman) with the new stuff...
and it was just crazy... it was packed and people were going wild..
when she dedicated ' i am strectched on your grave' to whitney houston and then did a flawless a capella version.. the whole place was crying!
it was such an awesome night......

Great stuff, but she always impresses. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I didn't really get into her reggae and folk cover albums. They weren't bad, I just prefer this style, plus her own original material. I'd say Faith & Courage was the last album I really loved My Legacy
