Well there's alot in that statement, I disagree that Bono can't sing, and that the members are irrelevant, I mean people say that about Queen and if took Brian or Roger or John out of Queen Freddie Mercury and the band never would have had any success. I draw the comparison cause outside of Queen and Bon Jovi there really isn't a band that can go everywhere with their tours and catalogs and play the same size plays in every country, granted there are lots of bands that can play anywhere, but the size of their audience varies place to place. As for the importance of the music, not all of U2's work is held up like that, I'm not sure where people got that from, but some took on bigger meanings because it's universal in message, ONE and Beautiful Day and some others appeal worldwide just the way We Will Rock You and We are the Champions did for Queen. Freddie mercury just wasn't political in his daily life and Bono is.

Let me also finish with saying I dont hate U2... I understand why some of their songs have appeal. I just dont think their deserving of some of the accolades they get though... And Bono is not a good singer AT ALL... very average... His like the male version of Alicia Keys. Very average voice and depending on the song and how well he bursts emotion it can be overlooked.

Well I guess if you want to compare the two, U2 had covered more political themes that Queen but that doesnt necessarily make them better. Queen had alot of depth in their music as well also their share of pop songs the same with U2... a very popular song of theres such as Bohemian Rhapsody sticks out like a soar thumb and to me is much better than ANYTHING U2 has ever done.

Yes! Bono gets the most attention, like singers and frontmen usually do and that is heightened due to his activism. But they are still a band. All of them bring their shit to the table when it comes to making music, so to say that only Bono counts is totally misinformed. Also how you say that their music is boring when you "dont listen to a whole lot of U2 " is misinformed.

As for his singing... it is just fine for what they do! Check out a U2 concert. As for stand out songs... they got plenty of great songs.
