I mean still i'm a fan, but like with any band or artists i love. Including the purple one there are gripes, and i hate when Bono does those ohhhhhh or ahhhhhhhh ahhh ohhh ohh ahhhh for long periods & Keith Sweat is way worse

Yeah, that! "One" might be overplayed, but certainly not overrated. As for U2, "Achtung Baby" was a game changer for them. That was the first U2 album I really liked... not that they sucked before, but with "Unforgettable fire" and "Joshua tree", they were kinda my mothers music, with "Achtung Baby" they became my music. And to this day it's still a great album.

So what exactly is so groundbreaking about One? it's a good song. But there are so many better songs on the album, i mean what is it that makes One this amazing track?

^Because it's the "One".... it's the greatest ballad on that album!

It's my least favorite song on the whole album

It's like the Take Me With you or I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man type song.

Good song but nowhere near as great as other song on the album

Id have to do some research but I think it was released around some historical event and people kinda gravitated to it.

Johnny Cash's version is superb.

I agree, "One" isn't that great of a song, but I'm not sure it's overrated. Though it was a huge song, I don't hear a lot of people talking about it now as if it were a transcendant song that is one of the best ever written.

I generally like Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree, though they have some weak moments. I still think all the pre-Josha Tree albums were U2 at their best, especially Boy and War, with the Unforgettable Fire and October slightly behind.

I've never heard this song before.

I think Mysterious Ways, The fly & Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild horses where all better singles. Sadly they didn't reach the heights of One chart wise.

Yes!! Great songs... Mysterious Ways & The Fly are definitely one of my most favorite U2 songs.

two, their music is very boring and uncreative. Seriously alot of the things they are labeled as being the first to do alot of other bands have done it better ex. Pink Floyd.

The musicianship is nothing to be desire... just horrible horrible live and their just overrated because their a white band that does alot of charity work in Africa well I shouldnt say band because BONO does most of the charity work and that is to be commended. ... I mean kudos to Bono but seriously I dont see why that should make their MUSIC important or MORE important than what it is because of the kind of influence or what Bono chooses to do in his personal life..

Three.. Ive never thought of U2 as a REAL Band just mostly Bono and company besides a few acknowledges from The edge who plays the same tired riffs in every song

There are MUCH MUCH MUCH better bands that are more deserving of the accolades they receive which primarily is dued to their longevity and charity work not so much the quality of their music. If you really put all theyve done in perspective... it really hasnt been nothing innovative and their not really influential contrary to popular opinion.
