I remember an article when I was browsing through these old Jet magazines in Google, basically condemning Miss Guthrie for this song.

Why were they condemning her? The song rings just as true for today as it did back in the 80's when it came out.the 1.55 mark

I love this song! I always thought it was more of a send up than a real sentiment...like the woman's version of "Walking in the Rain" by Oran Juice Jones.
These songs were so over-the-top that I thought everybody got the humor (intentional or otherwise). | |
