Mark DeBarge (from DeBarge) was arrested for drug possession this week in a Hollywood hotel ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us, Mark was in his hotel room with some woman early Wednesday morning -- when the woman's parole officer stopped by for a routine check-up.

We're told the officer searched the room and discovered narcotics -- it's unclear exactly what.

Once the drugs were found, we're told Mark and his female companion were placed under arrest. Mark was booked for narcotics possession and has since been released.

Calls to Mark's camp were not returned

Yup! Marty got busted in '10 or early '11 down in Hawaii. I'm not sure if that case ever did anything.

Yes she has been arrested, but that was in the days before TMZ and the interwebz. IIRC she was arrested in the late 80s in Grand Rapids. The only ones I'm not sure about being arrested are Carol and Darrell, but both had/have drug problems from what I understand.

As it stands now, James and Marty are both in the soup and El had a very narrow escape...all in about 1 month's time!

Looking good . I see he´s still sporting that Jheri curl ´do . Now that takes some balls in this day and age and just goes to show you that he doesn´t give a shit about trends and pop culture and the latest fashion.

His shirt looks clean, too. Apart from those grease stains.

Why do the De Barge´s always get into trouble? And why does it take so long to arrest them when everybody KNOWS that they´re constantly involved in some sort of drug hustle or abuse?

I feel a bit sorry for him. He looks a bit lost in that pic.

Those would be his natural curls, and the grease stains you refer to is water; his hair was wet.

Really? Looks like activator/grease to me, but whatever. I honestly don´t mind Jheri curls, I actually kind of miss them.

Still a sad picture, I always liked the De Barge family, and their music and sheer presence back in the day brings back fond memories. I hope they will all get their house in order ASAP. Not for showbiz sake but for their own wellbeing. It´s sad to see them go down that route. But, considering the circumstances, they still seem to be strong, unlike other celebrities who lost control.

Yeah, you're right. They had heinous lives as kids, so their adult lives definitely have a sad logic to them.

I truly can't imagine just how really bad things were for them, but from the things that some have been willing to discuss, it must have been pretty harrowing.

Marty was seen very briefly in Unsung towards the very end in a family scene, but you're right... he's extremely quiet these days. Ironically, he used to be the mouthy one back in De Barge's heyday.

James is actually looking OK-better IMHO since he's been inside these months. He's shaved his head and it seems as if his injured shoulder has healed some. He's (gulp) "healthier" that I've seen him since Unsung, tbh.
