Axl will find a way to douche it up, I'm sure.

Everytime there's a story about the possibility of G'n'R getting back together for whatever reason (new album/live show/tour) there's always much excitement from fans and the music press. That must make the new members feel really shit. Like nobody wants to see them, which I suppose, is actually kind of true....But still.....

true, but the new members are really just hired Guns

Somewhere in their minds they must know that they are not the real Guns n Roses but rather they are Axl's band

The "new members" are Axl's hired hands. No one DOES care for them. lol They ONLY care for the originals as it should be.

Anyways, I wonder how this will play out. popcorn

God almighty. Bless him. I know Axl is an ass, but like he sang in one of his songs, he is the "last of his kind". I respect him for that.

Calm down everyone... there's nothing here about the original line-up performing together. No surprise that Slash and co will be there (they ARE, after all, being inducted). But I don't know whether Axl would want to play with them, not least because it would take all attention off the new line-up, some of whom have been part of G n'R for over 10 years.

Those of you hankering after a full blown reunion might be lucky to see maybe a song or two inclduding Duff and/or Izzy, both of who have performed with the new G n'R. As for Slash and Steven Adler... I don't if Axl will be able to get through a few hours of being in the same room as them ...

It's been too long since you've had your ass kicked properly:

I was lucky enough to catch them in Tokyo at their longest show ever recorded a few years ago. It was great actually. Yeah, it was Axl's band but they have their act together and are drug free. I mean, I have respect for Axl to walk away from that garbage and do what he wants. His voice was about 75% of what it used to be too but nowadays more like 50% so I bet they won't be around much longer.

You also have to respect the fact that he has turned down boatloads of money to get back together. Probably just like Prince in many ways, although we don't want to admit it.

Well, if Duff, Slash and Steven indeed show up, they will definitely play. They are not the kind of people to just show up and pick up an award, when the award show is held in a concert type set up. When Izzy shows, I'm sure he will play too. So that leaves it up to Axl, whether he decides to be a dick or not. He doesn't seem to have a problem playing with the other guys other than Slash and at the Metal Show interview he said, that he knows it's important for the fans and that he doesn't want to spoil it for us. So it's up to him really. He's the wild card. The new members of GNR are not a factor, as they are not awarded. Either way, it can't be worse than the VH induction.

At first, all of them were supposed to show up, the then current version of Van Halen plus Sammy and Michael. Then Eddie let it be known that he checked into rehab, so Alex let it be known that he wouldn't show as well, so Velvet Revolver was hired to be the backing band for Sammy and David to each sing a song with them. Then David wasn't allowed to sing the song he wanted, threw a hissy fit and said he would not come. So Sammy and Michael, the two ex-members, showed up to perform with Velvet Revolver and pick up the award.

true story .. i jumped the fence at the rose bowl and the LA coliseum to see Metallica / GNR when they toured together .. it was incredible.

It'd be great to see the orig lineup jam again.

That was a damn damn DAMN mess lol

And the song choices where confused , they did Ain' Talkin Bout Love... ok decent choice, but from the Sammy era they did Round & Round confused

Not Dreams, or Right Now, or Love Walks In but Round & Round lol lame

I assume that you are referring to the song "Runaround?" That is actually one of their better Sammy era songs. As much as I dog Sammy For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge was my first Van Halen album and it is my favourite non Dave album. The songs aren't great but at least they are rockin' again.

Yesterday, HoF musical director Paul Shaffer surprised absolutely no-one by letting slip that the original G n' R will NOT be performaing at the ceremony:
