With The Wild Crowd! Live In Athens, GA, the first official B-52s live album, is NOW AVAILABLE! Recorded in the band’s hometown of Athens,Georgia, this album captures a gig celebrating the 34th anniversary of the band’s first-ever live show on Valentine’s Day 1977. Wig-wearing, boa-draped, glitter-covered fans came from near and far to celebrate this historic event, which saw the band deliver a sizzling 90 minute set that turned Athens’Classic Center into a cosmic dancehall. The show was also filmed in high definition and will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2012.

I will definitely check out at least some of the TV broadcast this weekend even though I fully intend to buy the blu-ray when it comes out later this month.
