So many have great writing, & production but I wish someone else was singing it!

I don't think I've ever even heard a Barbara Streisand song, I know she's a highly respected artist. Doesn't she make show tunes? Yeah..that's not my thing at all.

Beyonce only has two songs that I like, "Me, Myself & I" and "Love On Top." If she made more songs like those I would actually like her. But she inisists on making shit like "Single Ladies."

I wouldn't call RiRi a bad artist, so I won't mention the songs l like from her.

Drake has a couple listenable songs out there.

Justin Timerpuke has one or two that doesn't make me want to blow my brains out.

Shitney Spears doesn't have one good song..AT ALL.

Kelly Roland has two songs I like.

I like that song Janet did with Busta Rhymes, but I wouldn't call Janet a bad artist, I'm just not into her music.

Definitely Madonna. Though as a complete package artist I would not call her "bad," as a singer I would, particularly the early years.

Rihanna for me too.

Her live vocals are so bad that it's not funny. The choices she has made in her personal life are quite sickening too. Some songs from "Good Girl Gone Bad" and "Rated R" just happen to be very good contemporary pop music. Can't find much to like on her new stuff though.

it's hard for me to come up with something because,for the most part,I don't listen to artists that I dislike.I totally ignore artists that I think are terrible

Usually- yes!
But in modern pop music is a little different. Britney herself - mediocrity, but behind the project "Britney Spears" in 1999-2004, were good professionals.

This can be attributed to Rihanna now

+ We're not talking about dislikes, after all. Just about weak and untalented artists who, through the efforts of others to 90% have created some decent songs.

I can't do it. Their voices wreak havoc on my ears. Bad artists = not gonna listen. Nasally voices, & off key ish are things that I can't listen to. I have walked out of stores playing some bad songs. Friends & family know not to ask me to go along to see bad sounding people, I won't do it.

I'm not so principled about the good voice and a weak voice. The main criterion is that the singer's voice is not annoying me.

I think her Blackout album is great. Everything before and after, with sometimes an exception, not so much.

I was going to say britney and justin. They have good songwriters/producers, but don't touch me in the talent department.

for me, it's basically:

Shania Twain: dreadful album tracks, but the Hits album is flawless...

Britney Spears: one more time, sometimes, I did it again, stronger, anticipating, toxic, gimme more, break the ice, womanizer, hold it against me, criminal, 'till the world ends, and probably more...

Rihanna: don't stop the music, S.O.S., Umbrella, good girl gone bad, S&M, Russian Roulette, Only Girl, the duets she has done, etc.

J.LO: I basically dig her singles, well-crafted pop

Backstreet Boys: I burned some time ago a personal hits/good songs cd, which I quite enjoy...

I understood, I just chose to answer the way I did. Yes, I don't think those artists are terrible, but I don't really care about them either. If an artist is terrible, that is it.. no terrible artist has a dozen great songs. If they did, they wouldn't be terrible.

I am not really a fan of Madonna, but I dig Like a Prayer (most of the album, especially Love Song and Ray of Light.
