Mariah Carey is returning to the stage this week to perform her first concert since becoming a mother to twins last year. The pop superstar will headline a free, intimate show at New York’s Gotham Hall on Thursday as part of a Plot Your Escape promo.
Carey will be supported by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in the Big Apple, while Maroon 5 will play a simultaneous concert in Chicago, Ill., and Gavin DeGraw will perform in New Orleans, LA.
There will also be a concert in Los Angeles, but the line-up for that show has yet to be revealed.
Only 50 tickets have been made available to the public for each gig, which will air on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Carey’s last live performances took place in late 2010. She gave birth to boy and girl twins Moroccan and Monroe in April, 2011.

Oh for gods sake someone just posted a thread about Mariah announcing
a free concert and the shit has turned into whether or not she can sell out
an arena. I'm pretty sure we all have favorite artists that aren't selling out arenas now. If you like the artist it doesn't matter if it's 5000 people there or 12,000.

I saw Mariah in concert twice at the United Center, the first time in 2000 and the second time in 2003. The United Center can seat up to 20,000 for a hockey game, 21,000 for basketball games, and up to 23,000 for concerts if they seat people behind the stage (like they have for U2 and Bruce Springsteen) or play in the round (like Prince did on his Musicology tour). Her concert in 2000 sold about 17,000 seats, but her concert in 2003 sold at most 10,000 seats, and they closed off the upper deck. That was one of the few arena shows she played on tour that year, as a lot of dates were rescheduled to play at smaller theater venues.

Or 50.
Shouldn't you be off buying Madonna's flop single on Itunes

I know. the vast majority of the artists that I listen to are from the 70's and 80's and most of them can barely fill up a room at a casino!
