All where huge hits, and i know Lionel weas big in the 80's... but was he popular as say Prince, Bruce & Madonna?
I just find it strange he got the grammy for album of the year over Prince & Bruce... hell even Tina & cyndi got snubbed. I like Can't Slow Down but i don't think masterpiece when i hear it
So how big was Lionel? and do you think it was a silly decision giving Lionel the album of the year Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Yeah, that was one of the biggest WTF moments of the Grammys.
I know not everything that's popular is the best, but Lionel winning over Prince and Bruce makes no sense.
It's one of many moments where the Grammys look out of touch.
