Miseducation of Lauryn Hill or Baduizm? I vote for Lauryn's groundbreaking cd "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

random trivia question, but didn't some editions of baduizm have an extra track and some didn't? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Lauryn loses points for not singing the entire album. With a singing voice like that, why on earth would you rap? Erykah for the win! "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

Rapping is the only thing Lauryn can do well still. Her singing sucks now. Just saw her on Valentine's Day. And Coachella last year. Her singing voice has gone the way of Chaka, but ten times worse.
She is a killer MC.
I also wish Erykah would rap more on her albums. People who havent been to a Badu show have no idea how well she can rhyme. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Laurn Hill is the BEST female MC of all time. If not the best easiy top 3. Lyrically and execution thats WHY.
Erykah can exactly rap to but she doesnt do alot of it on her songs.

I can't be expected to choose. I do own a lot more Erykah music, but it's because she was actually releasing albums. Lauryn has been a disappointment as an artist, or maybe I should say frustration. Much like D'Angelo going off the map and letting the music take a back seat. Imagine if Marvin or Stevie had just taken a decade off after releasing one or two albums, or if Prince had not recorded or released anything in the decade after Dirty Mind. Erkykah stayed in the game, and put out great music without imploding. I still want to hear from both Lauryn and D'Angelo though. "So fierce U look 2night, the brightest star pales 2 Ur sex..."

Hear, Hear!
This album will endure time, as well as her "Unplugged" with its 3-chordal, long speeches and raspy singing. Solely, because the sincere and raw emotions she displayed.

Yeah, I never understand why Unplugged 2.0 gets clowned. It's a major departure from Miseducation from a musical standpoint, but it's so raw emotionally and vulnerable. "I Gotta Find Peace of Mind" is her greatest song. Listen and you'll understand why. Check me out and add me on:

Yes. I have the 2 cd version. Tracks are..
On & On (Jazz Mix) On & On (Da Boom Squad Mix) Appletree (2B3 Summer Vibes Mix) Appletree (Live @ The Jazz Cafe) Next Lifetime (Linslee Remix) A Child With The Blues
It is in a 2cd jewel case with a clear outer slip case. Other versions just had one extra track tacked onto the standard cd.
There are versions of her other albums with extra track(s) too.

She does more rapping in a live setting. At least the gigs I have been to/heard.

Perhaps because folks expected a "Miseducation Redux", which might've been the safe route for her. The idea of the project itself showed how gutsy she is, and it was a complete departure of her previous work, even though maintained the sincerity element.

What exactly happened to Lauryn's voice, why is it shitty? Was she on crack? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."
