When they announced her name for the category she was nominated for. The audience booed her. Whitney had started getting a backlash from the black community that felt she sold out to the white audience & her music was too watered down & poppy...Poor Whitney! I heard later she started taking it really hard. It may be the reason why she decided to show peeps the real her.Which I feel is when she started sabotaging her career...

Bobby was just as good as any rnb performer if not better. He had charisma, stage presence & charm. His career took a back burner to Whitney's & I feel he never forgave her for that.He turned into Mr. Houston.

I've always hated that.

Whitney felt she had to "prove" that she was "down." The way I see it, her first two albums were a massive success. So what a few ignorant black people felt her music was too "white" SOMEBODY must have liked it because they sold like hotcakes. If I were Whitney I would have told them to kiss my ass and then came out with the most bubble-gum poppiest album in the fuckin world intead of I'm Your Baby Tonight.

But I'm just an asshole like that. lol

Nothing matched Don't Be Cruel. hammer It's really too bad, he has a nice talent and charisma that just got lost along the way. That cover on Bobby was on point. He really should think about a 25th anniversary edition with some outakes, some remixes and remakes. Get a little money in the bank to retire on pay child support with, and then get back on the road, cause isn't he a new daddy?

I agree with all of this post. Wasn't this the award show that Whitney and Bobby met? To me it was like Whitney, stunned by the booing, hooked up with Mr. Hood himself. And her career and eventually her life went on a trajectory downward.

I don't know, that whole story seems too scripted. I think it was only pure coincidence that Bobby and Whitney hooked up when they did. Whitney told Diane Sawyer that Bobby was "the first love" of her life. That was telling. Looking back, I don't believe she dated Randall Cunningham and Eddie Murphy and though I thought they did, don't seem like she dated Jermaine Jackson either so I take that back.

I believe Bobby was the first & only man that Whitney ever been with. I also believe Ray J would have been the second. Whitney's god daughter confirmed that Whitney wanted Ray J & vice versa & would have married him if her life was spared..Ray J had started changing his pimp ways to.....

Ray J wasn't changing his ways lol he was trying to pimp out a reality show with him and the girlfriend he was allegedly dating around the time he started hanging out with Whitney again. So no his "pimp ways" was still going on.

Whitney Houston, Ray J Reality Show Was in the Works Before Her Death?

Whitney Houston, Ray J Reality Show Planned

Did Whitney Houston and Ray J have a reality show deal lined up before her death?

New details are emerging that Houston and boyfriend Ray J (he of the famed Kim Kardashian sex tape) may have been trying to shop around a reality show.

Ray J and Houston had been together since she and Bobby Brown split in 2007, though he was involved in a dating reality show.

The relationships in his reality show, For the Love of Ray J, were just for entertainment, a source says: "Ray was grounded in what was entertainment and what was reality. He was able to separate."

Friends of the couple believed they loved each other, noting, "He encouraged her to be all she could be, to be the Whitney that we loved."

Others believe that Ray J's motives were less than noble, with one source saying that Ray J wanted to pitch a reality series of his relationship with Houston. The source squeals, "He was just using her like many people did, to get a deal."

Ray J's publicist, Courtney Barnes, tells The Daily Beast: "It was his show, and they shot footage of the two of them together that appeared in the sizzle reel, which was being used to pitch the show."

As for how he's coping with Houston's loss, his publicist shares, "He hasn't talked to anybody yet. He's not ready yet."

As for the status of that reality show, mum's the word. Would anyone tune in to watch Ray J pining away?

Bobby Brown’s Sister Claims Bobbi Kristina ‘Is Not Safe’ (Video)

leola brown*The sister of Bobby Brown told “Access Hollywood” Tuesday that her niece, Bobbi Kristina, is not safe and should not trust anybody other than her father and her grandmother Cissy Houston.

Auntie Leolah Brown, speaking for the first time since the death of her former sister-in-law Whitney Houston, said, “I am concerned about my niece Bobbi Kristina, yes. Krissy is not safe right now. I want to say to Krissy that it’s very, very, very important that she does not trust anybody at this time – anybody except her father, her grandmother Cissy and myself. And I mean that.”

Leolah and her attorney Reginald Mason would not get specific about who may try and hurt Bobbi, but she added, “Right now is the time to just really shut the door,” with Mason saying, “There are persons that possibly would want to take advantage of Bobbi Kristina’s fragile state of mind.”

Also during the interview, Leolah said she hoped the Beverly Hills Police Department carries out a thorough investigation, adding, “I believe Whitney’s death was not accidental.”

When pushed on who she thought killed the singer, Bobby Brown’s sister said, “It’s very important to know that she did not just pass away like that. No. And if it’s the last thing that I do, I’m going to find out what truly happened to my sister.”
