Yeah but only MJ fans and maybe some Vadge fans flood the boards with stupid horseshit threads bout their stans. Yall got other sites to love your Idols this doesnt need to be one of them.

Really you aren't coming to the org. to disguss mj.

But this is a section about all music that does not belong to Prince. I don`t go to the MJ fan sites, I don`t like discussing his personal life and other things that not relate to his work. I like him as an artist, not more than that.
I don`t understand why we can`t talk about the album Dangerous and Bad tour in the section, where discusses all the music. neutral
It's a strange policy.

Recently on The Beatles fan site someone started again, the topic of MJ, the moderator wrote him: we have a topic of lively Jackson, we have topic of dead Jackson .... enough.
Poor Mikey, he is a permanent derelict lol

I kinda feel sorry for Baby Be Mine. It's a great track but it was overshadowed by all the other great songs on the album lol

It should have been a major hit-its just that good wink

It definitely could have been a hit.Ditto for The Lady In My Life.If those two songs had been released it singles, this would have been the only (non-greatest hits) album in history where *every* song was released as a single!

Off the Wall, to me, has great disco-incorporated pop songs but 2 out of 10 songs are below average... 'Girlfriend' and 'It's the falling in love'. They are quite forgettable songs. (especially Girlfriend...just awful).

Thriller covers more divergent genre than Off the Wall, every track on that album has it's own uniqueness, still sounds fresh today and considering when it came out and what that album did to music industry, Thriller is easily the better album for me.

In what way do you think Off the Wall is a better album? Just wanna know..

Song for song,I think it's a stronger album. It has more funk and R&B than Thriller, which was obviously designed to be more of a 'pop' album....not that there's anything wrong with that.

I Can't Help It is just heavenly.A masterpiece!! I really wish that Michael had done more songs like this. The slow songs on Thriller are fantastic, but they can't compare to this song.

Rock With You,Off The Wall,Get On The Floor, and the relentless Working Day And Night are dancefloor CLASSICS....these are among the finest uptempo jams that Michael has ever done.

Interesting, I agree I Can't Help It is a great song. It has beautiful jazz sound to it. But I think Human Nature can beat that one lol

All those songs are great, I completely agree. They all share the similar concept; funky dance jams. And I always thought DSTYGE and Working Day & Night sound a bit similar to each other.

But in Thriller, while Wanna Be Starting Something and Baby Be Mine carry that off the wall disco/funk vibe, there's rock oriented song Beat It, pure dance pop Billie Jean, r&b ballad Lady in my life...it's so fresh and the entire album as a whole is completely different from his previous albums.

In the end, I think I appreciate the diversity in Thriller more than OTW. People say OTW album was MJ's breakthrough album from the Jacksons era, but to me it still sounds a lot like Destiny/Triumph era, only it has ballads in it. smile

It`s the perfect pop album, one of the greatest ever, but not one of my favorite in the discography of MJ.

My favorites from the album are: "Baby Be Mine", "Human Nature" and "The Lady In My Life".

"Billie Jean" and "Beat It" are obvious classics as well, though played to death (by myself, and the general public).

"Thriller" I don't like - the video is great, but the song alone [without visuals] is worthless to me.

"The Girl Is Mine" and "PYT" are filler tracks... Any 80s r&b artist could've done those songs, and nobody would call them classics..

Overall, it doesn't work as an album for me. Having "Thriller" (about zombies) and "Beat It" (about gang violence) in the middle of the album throws the album completely off-track for me. Those two songs should've been at the end of the album.

On the other hand, Off The Wall is my least favorite MJ album (from 1979-2001). Bad is still his creative peak.

I really prefer Off the Wall to Thriller. Damn near every song on Thriller is perfect, but there's a gritty, experimental, edgy flavor to Off the Wall that I think really makes it magical. Songs like "I Can't Help It", the title track, "Rock With You", "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough", "Burn This Disco Out"... I mean those are songs no one can touch.

When it comes to male pop solos, MJ really set the bar impossibly high with OTW and Thriller. For sheer personality alone, though, OTW is my all-time favorite. I don't even rate Bad or Dangerous, though both great albums, anywhere near OTW.

Seriously though, Michael has never gotten that great album reviews from the critics. The "A+" / "*****" reviews you can find for the album from sources like Wikipedia offer a limited view on its general reception.

Umm...I wonder which LP "listens" better today as a whole LP vs individual songs? How have they held up to time? I don't fully agree w/ you because I can appreciate how well crafted "Thriller" was because it accomplished EXACTLY what it set out to do....which was have something for everyone. "Purple Rain" was coming from an entirely different place. However, I think "Thriller" sounds far more dated than "Purple Rain", yet I listen to neither album frequently! cool
