Arista ripped off a lot of artists.

Think about it, Arista didn't rip them off, they didn't educate themselves.

But what young people are looking at the other side of the business? Artist don't find thesew things out until years later.

I am looking at it right now, in case my daughter makes anything out of her music career.

I know pretty much what NOT to do, but I haven't figured out how to do things the way they SHOULD be done. Best I can figure, you need to have at least two labels wanting you, and then be smart enough to make them negotiate against each other.

I know what you're saying, but young kids out the ghetto just not looking at that. They are tryin to get out by any mean, and when someone offers them a deal, they sign it ith the quickness.

It's been goin on since the days of Motown and wil continue to go on.

Exactly. It's a rarity for an artist to actually figure what goes on in this business. Most humble folks who enter the business only see it through rose colored glasses with no one there to yank it off them.

I'm not a kid but I would not sign or trust anyone under any circumstances in the business. I would much rather try my luck on my own, that's just the way I am. No one can be trusted when it comes to money, sad but I've said it before, i'd rather hang out with my cats than people. People are too deceptive and calculating. We are taught to put on a million false faces but all that does is camoflauge the fact that all most people care about is money and power, it's that simple.

that's what you think, I've had "oppurtunities" in life before, I just don't sell out, it's not easy but I just can't live like that. Sure I have to sit around and be bitter at all the bastards but I can still look in the mirror and love me, and i do love me. Gotta stand up for yourself, it's not that hard.
