Cher returns! Legendary and ageless singer and actress Cher (she’s actually 65 and has turned back time) is embarking on a world tour for the first time in seven years starting in Kansas in September. I’m told that the former two-year Caesars Palace headliner who vowed to never hit the road again will include Las Vegas on the itinerary. Her “Living Proof: Farewell Tour” ran from 2002 to 2005. Cher says the global tour will feature her hits and newer songs from “Burlesque,” which featured Las Vegas darling Julianne Hough,
and a new album due this summer ,which reportedly features “The Greatest Thing,” a duet with Lady Gaga.
On Thursday night, Cher used Twitter to confirm first details to fans and tell them that she’d just seen the set designs for the tour. “There’s so much magic, I am breathless,” she tweeted. “I am shaking from them.” She revealed that there will be set changes for each song in the production: “The whole set/look completely changes for every song.”

Awesome! Just a couple weeks ago I thought how cool would it be if she'd go on tour once more. Definitely will go see her.

I never understand why some artists announce "farewell tours" and say that it's gonna be their FINAL tour Who are they fooling? On his 2004 tour, didn't Prince say that it would be the "last time" he would be doing those old songs? LOL...

Because, at the time, they might have felt that it is the last time they want to do a long tour. Haven't you ever changed your mind?

Of course I have but when you're an artist/performer,do you ever really "retire" from that? Why not just say "this will be my last tour for awhile,so I can do other things but rest assured,I'll be back on the road someday".

^^Well, obviously they don't, that's why they come back. And obviously, at the time, she felt that she's not coming back. I doubt she is doing it for the money. I doubt Tina Turner did it for the money... but when one is aproaching 60 they might feel that they are simply not up to it anymore.
I mean, the performing is 2 hours of the day, the rest is sitting around in a hotel room or travelling, when you could be at home doing whatever. So I do believe her that she felt, at the time, that's it... at least the touring part. Then she did Vegas and obvously had fun doing so and wants to do the world once again. I think that's cool. I rather go to two farewell tours than have an artist stop touring without being able to go to their last tour.

Well damn, I thought the last concert before I retire was still going on anyways.
So this kinda makes sense.

actually,I think money is a large part of it.As these artists get older, they began to realize and appreciate the fact that touring can be very lucrative for them. It's their bread and butter.Nobody knows this better than Madonna

I was just talking about her last night and remembering the Believe era in which I saw her, though I didn't get a chance to go to the show! I will try to invest in this if the new music is good. Gaga and Cher are a perfect match for working together though they don't need each other to have a hit.

Cher is 300 years old, she just did a 3 year engagement in Vegas, before that she's been on tour for 3 years. I doubt that she'd run out of money anytime soon! Same for Tina Turner (and Madonna for that matter).

The rent's due. What else can Cher do besides tour again?!?

LOL!
Well, unlike you she's not flatass broke.
At her level, both in life and finances, I again seriously doubt that money is a motivator in anything she does anymore.

Almost seventy and still going strong! However she needs to just say she's touring Noysaying she's done touring just turn around and do it again. Also I think she needs to switch it up abit. Stop ending with Believe. Pick some other song for once!
