What? Is this true or an opinion.

I have no idea but someone in that thread claims that Prince contacted the guys in Journey and got their "approval" to borrow elements of their song I don't know if that's true or not.

Thats because they plagarized Faithfully..and even sent a letter etc to Journey. Journey gave them their blessing.

It's vice versa. "Purple Rain" sounds like "Faithfully". Prince contacted Journey and told them he thought he'd made a mistake with "Purple Rain"; that it sounded too much like their song.

Journey said, "No problem. We took that groove as far as we could. We hope you can take it farther".

And the rest is history.

That's cool I like the way both sides handled things,without a silly lawsuit or any bitterness.Many songs resemble other songs,in subtle ways.It's not always intentional,either.
