The way the cover is styled, I wouldn't be surprised.

What do you mean?

The cursive handwriting on the right is kinda like the way the cursive handwriting of "Perfect Angel" was also on the right but that's the only connection I'm getting. Did you mean to say the album was a tribute?

Maybe unintentionally, but the stuff she did with Richard sound like a throwback to Minnie's stuff.

Ah OK, I can see why you would think that. Aladdin's Lamp sounded like something Minnie could've easily done. hmmm

"Now That I Have You" was written for Minnie, recorded by Teena. Both R.I.P

Teena Marie was her godmother.....

I've always thought this album was a tribute to Minnie given that her husband worked prominently in it,,,

So, it wouldn't surprise me if she had a deeper connection with the Rudolphs.

"Now that I have you" from "Lady Tee" was originally Minnie's song. Lady TEE is my favorite Teena Marie album. I actually got into Minnie through Teena. Motown wouldn't let Teena produce that album without a male producer with her. So she picked Richard Minnie's husband. I miss Teena so much.

I believe it was used on last week's SNL.

Always read, that Rick James suggest that she should produce her next album.

But she stated that she wasn't confident about doing that, and so she hired Richard Rudolph..

Cute! But also kind of sad. I couldn't imagine losin' my mama at such an early age and so quickly.

Minnie's bout w/ cancer is one of the main reasons I don't take health shit lightly. <3 her though.

That is true. But it was virtually no female producers back then. I doubt Motown trusted her to do that. But Richard was a wise choice 4 her. That album was flawless..Plus she went on and produced "Irons In The fire" by herself the same year...

Teena always made sure she looked very beautiful on her album covers. I don't know of any cover she had that she didn't.. I like how on the Lady Tee cover she is made up . But on that back she is a round the way girl.. giggle
