Shoot, it's ARETHA FRANKLIN! Directly or indirectly, most pop and soul female singers (and maybe some male, too) are beneficiaries of her work and legacy. I wouldn't be surprised if that understanding fuels her attention-grabbing fashion sense.

Aretha's got THE voice and I think she's great, but I agree that dress was pretty bad. It was too poofy and just...too much fabric.

Oh no Leave The Grande Dame Diva alone. Retha can where a Hefty bag and make it look good. It's how you carry yourself. She doesn't like to fly in airplanes she drove to be there. Wonder if she's gotten over that pesky fear of getting on an airplane yet doubt it?
She has more class then most people will ever get. Always there to show support for younger performers. She could be I don't have time but she isn't like that.
She gives the word Diva a good connotation.
