Nothing these people are doing (have done so far) is completely original. You can clearly see some of their influences in this video.

Nothing they've said, regrettable or otherwise, hasn't been said a million times before. Why were so many people before them given a pass, but they aren't allowed to express themselves? They haven't said anything any different than Eminem said while selling tens of millions of records. NWA said it all twenty years ago. No one in Odd Future says anything close to the crazy shit people have been saying in horror rap for just as long. But for some reason, because these guys are young and obnoxious, they aren't allowed the same freedoms. Do I wish they would stick to being more verbally imaginative, which it's clear they could do if they chose to go that way? Yes. I do. But they're still kids and I think this song is a big step up from a lot of what I've heard of them previously.
