Your Favorite Remakes

To avoid posting one thread per song, I thought it might be fun to post some of your favorite remakes. It doesn't mean that you necessarily like a particular version better, but you just like this version.

To kick things off, here are some of mine.

Prince didn't care, he got paid really well for it. lol

I don't think it was that bad. Mariah holds the title for the worst Prince remake to me.

Mimi's remake was my introduction to Prince' world, I was an obssessed lamp back in my teenage days lol and I obtained every original song she covered, however this was the one that hit home.

Prince said in a radio interview at the time that he appreciated the sentiment, but it wasn't meant to be a "duet". Maybe if she got rid of Sisqo the baltimore blonde bleached rat and his posse, the song would've been more effective.

With that being said, the song still has a place in my heart, flaws and all lol

  1. Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You [Mediocre, generic song given an amazing performance]
  2. The Beatles - Rock and Roll Music [much more "rock and roll" than Chuck Berry's version]
  3. Prince - Crimson and Clover + A Case Of U + La La Means I Love You
  4. Amy Winehouse - Valerie + Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? + Cupid
  5. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - All Along The Watchtower
  6. Elvis Presley - Yesterday [better singer than Paul McCartney]
  7. Harry Nilsson - Mother Nature's Son [also a better singer than Paul McCartney]
