^I hope so to but you can never be sure what folks do on their off time. This business is a monster. I just wish her the best regardless as I did the rest.

LOL... I agree with this but Jennifer has played other roles besides that and has proved to be descent actress come on give her SOME credit ... While I have yet to see anything deserving of an Oscar doesnt mean she is horrible... She is ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT ALOT better than Beyonce who constantly gets scripts thrown at her why I dont know she cant act for shit

Like I said, I don't want to throw shade on JHud. And I don't even blame her... I point to the academy voting committee. I just look at her performance, and that of Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles, or Denzil Washington as Malcom X, and Angela Bassett as Tina Turner, and Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump.

Some people deserved Oscars and didn't get them and others... you just have to scratch your head. Another performance that won (and I don't understand why) is that of Cuba Gooding Jr. in Jerry Maguire.

I just don't think Gooding and JHUd's performance should be in the same category as (Oscar winning perfomance) as these other more worthy performances.

JMO.

I AGREE WITH THAT... Im not sure if you reading my posts wrong or what you want to read LOL but I agreed with that point you made HOWEVER I DID say that Jen is not a horrible actress judging her overall acting abilitiy alone and not her performance in Dreamgirls.

You're comparing lead role performances with supporting roles here.

I think actors often (not always) win supporting role awards for their memorable impact on the film. J-hud's performance of "And I Am Telling You" is what won her the statue, nothing before or after that she did in that movie. She could've just came on and just done the number and still won, I bet.

That said, the Bodyguard was a shit film. I can understand directors wanting to revisit and re-interpret great (or at least interesting) films. Or if you're a big-shot actor who loves a specific role, getting a movie funded so you can get your shot at it.

What I don't understand is this obssession with remaking SHIT. confused

The only thing about the remake that I've heard on tv in the last few days was that it's being remade as a musical for the stage and not as an actual movie. I don't recall anything being said about parts being casted yet but the idea has been in the works for awhile long before Houston's death.

HELL 2 the NO

there is no need for a remake, it's not that old of a movie for a remake.

Kevin Costner & Whitney Houston,

sick of all these current remakes that just crap all over the original

Hollywood needs to stop it with all these ridiculous remakes.Just STOP IT.

If they can't come up with an original idea for a movie, then don't make a movie at all.

You know John, I never considered that I was comparing leading roles vs supporting roles. Yeah, I can see it is like comparing apples to oranges. But I still feel like some people played themselves in certain scenarios and others "lost themselves" in the character. Like Laurence Fishburn in Tina Turner movie... when I saw him in his next role, for a quick minute I had a disliking to him because he did such a good job transforming into Ike.

Oh I feel where ur coming from in what you're saying.

I jus think the categories are often judged (consciously or not) by different standards when awards are given out. wink

That movie is Whitney's Movie, and for someone else to remake it is purely rude and disrespectful. J. Hud has talent, but if she does this it will hurt her career BET!
