Tina Turner - "GoldenEye" Video (Bond Title Theme)

1995 GoldenEye music video with Tina Turner.

Composed by Bono and The Edge.

See reflections on the water
more than darkness in the depths
see him surface in every shadow
on the wind I feel his breath

GoldenEye I found his weakness
GoldenEye he'll do what I please
GoldenEye no time for sweetness
but a bitter kiss will bring him to his knees...

I know this is about James Bond but I think her other soundtrack song One Of The Living is equally good if not better.

One of The Living from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome...even better than We Dont Need Another Hero..its underrated/underappreciated (is that a word?).

"Climb in my fur."

you know, back in the day, when this song came out I thought, "ok the movie has to be good!", and I wasn't wrong, lol. This excellent song was the icing on the cake: Goldeneye (despite a couple of over-the-top/overblown action sequences) was the best Bond film since the 60s...

I was always impressed by Tina's soprano near the end of this when she goes "with the GAWDEN AAAAAAAAAAAAAYE..." lol

You know she had to Southern-ized it. wink Can take the girl out of Nutbush but Nutbush will never leave her. love2

Ian Fleming's Jamaican house, GoldenEye

Long before GoldenEye was the title for Brosnan's first Bond movie it was the name of Ian Fleming's vacation house in Jamaica. It was here where Fleming first sat down with his typewriter and his copy of Birds of the West Indies and created James Bond.

I will never forget that I was like 4 or 5 when this song came out and I always made sure I caught Tina on TV when she sang this song. This song is amazing.

The song was written especially for Turner by Bono and The edge when they learned that she had been offered to sing the theme to the upcoming James Bond movie.

I didn't even know Bono and the Edge wrote it until they did a documentary on Tina around the time Wildest Dreams dropped. I saw it on VH-1 and she mentioned that they wrote it. But then again I think I saw on the JET cover story on Tina when she released the single that she had mentioned them. Anyway, it sure didn't sound like a U2 song, like they knew how to give Tina a song that would be Tina-esque and then mix it with the Bond theme. Genius on their part. Of course Tina knocked it out of the park.
