Have you guys seen this performance from the Carson show, 1982? She does "Rock 'n' Roll Widow" and "Steel Claw". Interesting that she would do these 2 tracks. Not long before she would re-emerge w/ "Let's Stay Together" and then the "Private Dancer" album. "Rock 'n' Roll Widow" of course would eventually become a b-side. I wonder if, at one point, it was considered as a comeback single? And look at her move on "Steel Claw" - - love the performance. The album version has such a terrible drum sound and dated production, but I still adore it. The vocal is incredible.

Might've been. We have to remember she was starting her comeback trail in 1981 with the Ritz and Rod Stewart and the Rolling Stones. I'm thinking these songs definitely were recorded with Capitol around 1982 but they never got around to releasing it because they didn't wanna release rock songs from a "rock and soul" artist like Tina was portrayed as at the time. You can tell they rushed with production on Private Dancer. It was a cash grab but had they worked more on Steel Claw, they would've produced better results in the studio version but I still love the song live or in studio. nod

biggrin I do too. I was 11 when 'Private Dancer' came out and I absolutely played the death out of it. Especially "Steel Claw" - - just a great song, and Tina delivers a killer vocal.

nod She killed ass on that. Jeff Beck had a good solo in the studio version. I LOVE the energetic performance she gives of the song in that video. Every time she performs, it seems so full of life. smile

Either the soundtrack to Mad Max or All the Best (though I'm not sure it's included on ATB but you can check to see if it is). And thanks. smile
