Baden Powell ~ Samba Triste

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Acoustic Guitar Magazine did a wonderful write up about Mr. Powell when he passed. I recall the article mentioned in Powell's latter years holding/playing a guitar was painful.... a consequence of holding his guitar against his ribs... his rib bones had been worn down on his right side.

Interesting. I've heard of musicians getting arthritis or corpal tunnel from playing, but not rib degeneration.
