I just picked up the Observations in Time album by the Ohio Players and quite like it. I thought it contained most of their pre-seventies material but then I learned that the First Impressions album had a host of other material. On cd this era seems to be a bit of a mess with many different compilations available none of which appear to have everything. Can anyone recommend what my next purchase should be? There are three releases in particular I am looking at:

A Little Soul Party

Gold Soul

Trespassin'

I think that Gold Soul and Trespassin' are identical but Trespassin' has two extra tracks so that makes it easy to decide which one to buy. A Little Soul Party is two discs, the second being the Observations in Time album and the first featuring many tracks that are on neither of the other two releases. It looks like I will need to buy A Little Soul Party for the tracks that are not on the other two albums.

If there are any other releases I should consider please let me know.
